DESCRIPTION

The 2011 vintage was of superb quality. Summer and autumn were cooler than average and free from rain, which meant that we could achieve very harmonious fruit and tannin ripeness. This was also the first vintage in which we used 35-hectolitre Austrian foudres to age this wine for 24 months. The fruit is from our emblematic Alto de Piedras vineyard in Isla de Maipo

TECHNICAL SHEET

Variety: 100% Carmenère.
Origin: Maipo Valley.
Climate: Temperate Mediterranean.
Soil: The soil prole is a mixture of sand, mud and clay with boulders of dierent sizes, and rock generally appearing at a depth of 1.2 meters.
Ageing: 30% of the wine is aged in new oak barrels for 26 months, while 70% is aged in old barrels.
