De Martino Wine’s is chosen as one of the best Carmenere in Chile by Decanter
The prestigious magazine Decanter published an article titled “Carmenère marks 30 years in Chile” where it analyzed the 30 years of the rediscovery of the Carmenere strain in our country.
The article was written by wine expert and author of the “South American Guide”, Amanda Barnes, who also made a list of the best Carmenere red wines from Chile.
The Alto de Piedras 2022 wine from Viña De Martino was chosen among the top wines from Chile in the red variety.
“This minimalist Carmenere showcases De Martino’s increasingly subtle red wine styles, focused on fresher, more nuanced expressions. Coming from their vineyard on Isla de Maipo with alluvial gravel terraces, the expression here is softer than those of Maipo Andes. On the nose there is a touch of smoked pepper with subtle layers of black fruits and wild herbs, and a bright and lively finish,” was Barnes’ positive review of the wine from the De Martino family winery.
